After the amazing time at Janes State Park, I headed towards the business conference in North Carolina.
When in NY, I knew that I needed to have my ignition worked on, however, they couldn’t get the part in before I left for the conference. One of the main master technicians (a relative) at Ford in NY fixed it temporarily and I scheduled an appointment for a few weeks out. I planned on coming back so that I could visit a friend in Rhode Island and get it fixed by people that I knew. So far everything seems good, and I have been able to start my van.
Went to the location of the conference in North Carolina in Chapel Hill. As I pulled into the parking lot of the hotel where the conference I was hit with a ton of bricks. Meaning it felt like COVID, which was not in my plans. I had actually rented a hotel room because we were doing photo shoots and were going to be going back and forth to the rooms and thought it would be good to be in air conditioning also!
Checked myself into the hotel (contactless), then the next morning ran to a drug store for a home test and sure enough it was positive. So actually, I did not attend the darn conference. I stayed in the hotel room for the next two days since they would not give me a refund.
After checking out I started heading towards a friend’s house in North Carolina that I was going to visit that moved from Colorado. Halfway there I still wasn’t feeling well so I found a quiet campground that had super-hot showers and I slept again for a few more days. After the second day I got up and felt great so continued on to my friend’s home.
Wasn’t sure I was going to be able to park at her home because of the pitch of the driveway. When I arrived there, I did some tricky maneuvering to get up on the side of her house to a flatter position, but just about gave my friend a heart attack because it was a lot of turns to get it turned around and in place. (note to self: would never to that again)
While I was at her home that she just bought, she said one thing that would make her happy is if we could paint her kitchen. It was a dark brown color and she wanted it bright!! It took us a full two days and it was bright, but she was thrilled. After we finished that I headed to another friends home in South Carolina!
