Looking at Future Possibilities
One part of my van journey was to simply explore and look at potential winter homes for the future. I love to ski and will always continue to ski, however I’m not as obsessed as I once was. To be honest I’m so over shoveling, digging out a car, and being cold all winter. Like the idea of being able to hike and bike during the winter. I also love to swim every single day in a private outdoor pool.
Really liked South Carolina because of the hiking, mountain biking, the lake, and the people were absolutely amazing. I looked at places on the lake there, but Trish and Dave would be in Florida during the time I would be in South Carolina. What I’ve learned on this journey for sure is that community is really important to me and just going somewhere I don’t know anyone is not really appealing to me. I’m blessed with an amazing community and very special friends in Colorado, so as is its hard to think about being away even on this little journey. However, I would like a warm place for my friends and family to visit or even move near me if possible at some point in the near future.
Even though South Carolina seemed appealing, once I got to Florida and connected with that church, I started looking at potential future options. I visited an up-and-coming community called Wellen Park and went through a view model homes that were very intriguing for me. I’m not quite ready to buy right now and the interest rates are crazy, but it’s always fun to look and I really liked the community and the location. If and when I do purchase a private pool is a necessity as I like to swim very early morning and also in the late evening. Those pool cages are amazing because they keep the bugs out and add several square feet to your living area. Also, to be in close walking or biking distance to my community and the beach are important to me.
I went through several models which was really fun, but below is the house that I liked the layout the best.
